I am obsessed with Quiet from the new Metal Gear Solid game the Phantom pain. The game focuses heavily on expression and I wanted my art piece to represent this. There is a sequence where she is seen dancing in the rain, sharing a moment with the player and herself and I personally feel that there is a lot of sadness and explosive emotion in her character so I wanted to do a painting of her in the rain, with nothing but simple but meaningful body language and expression.
The overall piece was pencilled and inked, additional colour was added using photoshop and in some areas I used a dodge tool to bring out the character. I used the dodge tool on the image below to show the impact of the rain on the body and to also add shine.
The painting below is a less digitally edited version of the painting of Quiet. The dodge tool was only used to add a cloudy affect.
