I made this Luke Skywalker set because I love Star Wars and I especially love Luke, I always liked him way more than Han, maybe because Han was "too cool for school" and I was a huge nerd back then (ok, I still am) and Luke was just this unassuming kid that gets thrown into a huge conflict and wants to be a hero, or whatever i just always liked him more.

I wanted to portray in a very minimalistic way Luke's journey and how he grows from a farmer kid with all this talent into a cocky fighter and finally grows into the seasoned, confident, uber-powerful Jedi. I love his journey, and how he gets his ass handed to him by Vader in ESB, because you know Vader could have destroyed him whenever he wanted but didn't because he was his son and then in ROTJ the story is the exact opposite, Luke could have destroyed Vader with ease but he holds back because he is his father. Also I love how Luke showed way more character than Anakin, willing to let everything and everyone go before turning to the dark side, he had more courage and strength than his father ever did.

I went for a very contrasting design in this set, I wanted to vector draw a more detailed face and body on Luke against a minimalist background, allowign the face and color to tell the story, along with a strong but simple use of type and lettering.

Also this set is part of the Poster Posse Star Wars project, please take a look around posterposse.com to see some jaw-dropping artwork from some amazingly talented artists and friends, you will not be disappointed!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoy the set and May The Force Be With You *8-I
A New Hope — The first in this series, showing a hopeful, unassuming kid, eager to go on big adventures like his father did.
The Empire Strikes Back — Now after many battles Luke is a cocky fighter, eager to bet on himself and ready to go!
The Return of the Jedi — Now a veteran fighter, having seen the true power of a fully trained Sith Lord and at peace with his destiny, Luke is a Jedi, confident on his powers and abilities.
Close up of the face, really trying to up my work here, adding more detail than usual.
In keeping with the minimal, elegant design I wanted to use nothing more than the numerals to refer the pahse in Luke's development as well as a quote that captured the feeling of the hero at said time.
