FRICKIN AMAZING is a fanciful mini booklet that I put together as an instructional book assignment for my Adobe InDesign course. When I first started conceptualizing, I was having a tough time coming up with ideas that I was not only interested in, but also ones that could make sense and appear realistic. Although coming up with something totally awkward was allowed, I felt like my concept had to be real enough, yet humorous. How to do Yoga and How to be a Gardener were my initial plans, however, these concepts were not fun enough, especially for the design ambitions I had in mind. Therefore, I decided to start with “How to Be Awesome!” This concept actually lost traction as I felt the content I was sourcing was too narcissistic and egotistical. So, the final concept that I decided to work with was “How to be Amazing!” The content associated with the word “amazing” was a lot more inspirational and uplifting. This whole project was meant to be totally tongue-in-cheek and sarcastic!
