GEONORGE IDENTITY
 
Kartverket has a national responsibility for Norway’s geographic information. They operate the national real estate registry as well as judicial registration of real estate and shares in housing cooperatives. As a leader and coordinator of national geodata, Kartverket works with the national infrastructure in Norway.
 
The name Geonorge has been hidden within the organisation Kartverket. To strengthen its focus on geographical infrastructure it was decided that Geonorge should be a separate brand and removed from Kartverket.no site over to its own digital platform. Through a brand process the audiences and values of Geonorge was specified and the design of the identity and www.geonorge.no could start. In the process Geonorge went from being a platform for “everyone" to being specified to serve target groups within the municipality, county, government agencies and some private operators.
 
Sopra Steria has been helping to build a new brand, Geonorge, with unifying focus on all tasks to be integrated into a merged result of several APIs, to one common view and experience - with responsive sites that will work across different platforms.

 
The idea behind the identity is a symbol made out of triangles that represents some of the different sectors within the geografical infrastructure. These triangles are bound together with a focus in the middle and a map marker pointing at the centerpoint. The logo symbolizes Geonorge as the platform for "The national website for public geodata".
 
 
 
 
This identity and website was created at Sopra Steria in 2015.
