This is one of my first product designs in partnership with my university course. This design is for a 360° recording mic for the music, light and sound course and department at the University of Derby. The inspiration for theis design is the Helium atom, which gives this design a vibrant and unique look.
The recording part of the mic (red and blue pod) has been designed so that it always lies parallel to the ground so that 360° recording is always effective. The pod is supported and suspended on two small arms that allow it to move freely.
Above we have what I have named the Atom Pod. This is where 6 small mics are arranged in a circle to ensure maximum recording capabilites.
