Until the arrival of so-called digital age, letterpress has been one of the main printing techniques, which was mostly used for printing books, brochures, posters and invitations.
Studio tipoRenesansa is first letterpress studio in Slovenia where they maintain this printing technique.
Among other things many prints are done using wooden letters for letterpress, which were previously saved from collapse.
Some sets of wooden letters weren’t complete so I did detailed inventory of existing and missing ones. I identified each set of type with relevant literature. In process of digitalization I drew the missing letters where I adopted parts of existing ones. Digitalization was held in program for designing vector types Glyphs. In the end I produced wooden letters with the use of CNC router machine. I identified and supplemented 9 sets of tipoRenesansa’s wooden letters.
