Type Journal – A Book Devoted to Typographic Compositions

The book consists of photographs taken of found typography and graphics composed exclusively with typography. I deconstructed, cropped and rearranged character elements to create new forms and structures while focusing on the unique characteristics from the original typeface. All pages, although they do have an original order can be rearranged and viewed in any order. To enhance this, I did not bind the pages to the cover, but left them in a stack so that each viewer can arrange them as they please. All prints are on vellum to allow some transparency between the pages and show how each composition can be combined and viewed in various ways. The legend in the back lists the typefaces used on each page and corresponds to numbers located on the back of each page so that the original order can be restored.
