Assignment Description: For my Masters Thesis, I decided to build an interactive visualization about volcanoes with activity since 1800 and their impact on humans. This first phase focuses on providing context to readers about how close volcanoes may be to their homes or travel destinations. It additionally focuses on human loss based on explosivity (VEI) and provide information about disaster response/relief. The goal was to bridge the gap between publications for kids and scientific research journals.
