Edible Madison is a quarterly magazine showcasing local purveyors, seasonal recipes, and gorgeous food photography. Their website, though, did not match the rich content of their magazine, so we designed a site with rich textures and a CSS that changed with the seasons, just like the publication. The recipe pages were designed to minimize the need for scrolling, for those that use their laptops and tablets like cookbooks. The site has a farmer market finder and a calendar of local food events. We also suggested a seasonal foods database called Eat Seasonal that works like a local foods encyclopedia, allowing users to learn about a specific food's use and storage as well as linking the user to any related recipes and articles, thus making years of printed content completely interactive.
