This work in The Riverside Murals Project was created as a direct response to the environment and the architecture on which it is situated.

The concept of the work was to create a visual reminder of the connection between the human world and the natural river environment. The cross shape represents the intersectional nature of our community, how we all work in unison to create the city and environment within which we are inhabitants.

The design and motifs were intended to act a subtle reminder of mans impact on the natural world.
“I wanted the symmetrical layout to create a visual oscillation between the digital and the natural, the mechanical and the      handmade. I was exploring the beauty and the symbolic associations of the fern as part of our visual cultural heritage.”
