Album, single, social media, t-shirts, ...

When dutch artist Roos Blufpand and her manager contacted me (thanks to Google) we immediately hit it off. They were working on the most sustainable album possible. And they succeeded, using electric cars, recycled FSC paper, bio ink, ... Even my contribution was powered by solar energy, cause my studio is. And I commute to my studio by bike, so I was approved so to speak. When the album was printed at one the biggest printers that specializes in cd artwork, the printer was quite impressed by the result. They're using it as an example of sustainability.

When I heard the new songs of Roos I felt a hint of pop-art would suit the vibe of record nicely. The music also reminded me a bit of the sound of the 80s. So I used those elements and the persona of Roos in creating the artwork. A few elements are a little tribute to a couple of my favorite artists when it comes to great album artwork: Sir Peter Blake and Klaus Voormann.

Using a cheap fineliner for the drawings, 'cause the ink of these pens will easily flow when mixed with water.
Which was the rough effect I was looking for.
Dripping water on the drawings to create a more rough and dramatic effect
Drawing of guitar player Nikolai Serda, who's also the manager of Roos. He got a cup of coffee and took of his shoes to record an acoutsic track.
I love this setting and this page is my little tribute to Klaus Voormann...
