How can contemporary technology alter Architectural Morphology to regenerate an antiquated part of the city?

Evolution of urban qualities of cities can best be seen by their infrastructural progress: the postal service, electricity distribution, telecommunications, public transport, internet, etc. Each new urban technology increases the distribution of resources leading to how the city evolves.

This project proposes to use emergent technologies and networks unique to Tokyo to evolve the use of Ryogoku's urban space. We propose a new masterplan using technology and ecology to dictate a rethinking of the city. Utilizing new technology this proposal will create solutions to existing problems of the area by increasing green space, using space to create cooler temperatures and develop attractions to the waterfront.

This can be accomplished by combining traditional thresholds and customs of Ryogoku with emergent technologies in creating a new urban typology.
