Faculty of Engineering Hanging Banners

This was a school project for the Faculty of Engineering. The intent was to create hanging banners that were both inspirational and educational, that would hang within the faculty. These banners were meant to showcase what engineers do for the world on a daily basis. My thoughts around this project were to dream up something big and out of the box – like a roller coaster! I wrote the copy on the left, which was a testament to the fact that engineers do more than build cool stuff, they help solve daily problems that change our world.

The ups and downs in the roller coaster are symbolic of the ups and downs in a graph, hence the orange banner that runs vertical and horizontal on the banners. Each bend in the rollercoaster represents a year in school and what is learned in that year. Finally, once you hit year five, you’ve solved all your “educational problems” and can enjoy the ride.
