Slovo Spaza (2013)

A collaborative honours (4th year) project that entailed research and documentation of the community of Slovo Park, Nancefield, Johannesburg. The outcome thereof created a framework for the insertion of architectural/interior projects for catalysing the existing networks of the community (This Is Slovo [2013]).

Our proposal suggested the possibility of incrementally growing the internal economy and provincial identity of Slovo Park through upcycling and skills development. The framework works with existing business, arts and recycling networks. It is a conceptual vision for a future of Slovo as an autonomous space with its own products for trade.
