    Formerly known as FA Digital Productions, Nymbl are an award-winning 3D design and animation studio. They produce distinct, high quality animations for a wide range of clients. Having established in 2012, they came to realise that while they pour over the quality of their work, it was their branding that didn’t present their portfolio in the best light. A brand that really is all work and all play.
 
Formerly known as FA Digital Productions, Nymbl are an award-winning 3D design and animation studio based in Bristol, England. They produce distinct, high quality and memorable animations for a wide range of clients. Having established in 2012, they came to realise that while they pour over the quality of their work, it was their branding that didn’t present their portfolio in the best light. They tasked us with repositioning their brand, helping them with renaming, before creating the visual identity and designing and developing their new website.
 
 
 
Challenge
 
Prior to nymbl's rebrand, their identity projected a 'techy' impression, which, while may appeal to some, could alienate others. While the agency aimed to demonstrate that they are experts within the field, their brand didn’t portray the forward-thinking, experimental and playful nature of their portfolio, and working culture. A dose of personality was needed within the brand, to portray their personable approach to working with clients.
 
 
 
Strategy
 
Equally creative as they are technically-minded, there’s nothing the team like doing more than putting new and emerging technology through its paces. Uncovering what it’s capable of. And it’s this inquisitive, playful approach to technology that inspires their best work. We were briefed to celebrate the beneficial relationship between ‘work’ and ‘play’ through the visual identity, website as well as in real life settings.
 
 
 
Solution
 
We set about designing an identity system that would feed Nymbl’s appetite for play. A platform upon which they could test, demonstrate and show off their skills. Two dots, one representing work, the other play formed the foundations of the brand.
 
Integrated within the bold logotype and supported by a brave two-colour palette, the resulting collateral and website have served up fresh inspiration for the internal team and is proving to be an effective selling tool.
