Icons that were for a hack-a-thon I contributed to.
The request was to create icons to represent the emotions happy / sad / angry / party / relax.
It began as an excercise to portray emotions with simple marks; however as the icons were to live at about a 100px size in a mobile app, the most concise way to indicate an emotion was through smiley faces. Combining the simple marks with simple faces resulted in these final sketches:
