Brickyard Office Park - Full website redesign
The Brickyard Office Park has been a fixture in the Fresh Pond area of Cambridge, Mass. Convenient to Harvard, Porter, and Davis square, its modernization during the Dot-Com era made it home to technology incubators and classic brick-and-mortar companies alike. But their website hasn't been updated for quite some time, and they needed it modernized as well.
Research and Brainstorming
I was given free-reign on the design of the site, affording me the opportunity to build the site solely from research and existing user feedback. Since the site traffic was negligable (4 visitors per day), I spoke with the existing tenants at the Brickyard, finding out what attracted them to the location and the information that encouraged them to rent there. Persona's were generated from that data as well as research into the funcationality of competitor websites.
The wireframe reflected the overall Information Architecture, especially with the home page emphasizing the two most sought after pieces of information that a potential renter wanted: what the Brickyard was and the amenities it could offer. A slideshow on the home page also showed pictures of different office spaces within the main building as well as external photos of the location.
The site was delivered and well received by the company stakeholders.
