Vernacular Projection is a project that purpose to recall the historical memories of heritage buildings in Penang George Town. It is a memorable memory that left behind from the ancestors of Penang. Hence, we decided to carry out a project that preservesthe history of Penang George Town and explore the unique design of shophouses from different eras. In the mean time, enrich the knowledge of history for new generation aside from school‟s textbook. Teamwork is an important factor that leads us to a successful project. Each and every group members have to work in team to accomplishthe tasks. This report identifies the technical problems that appeared in the project. Everyone single project happens to be involve in some sort of problems either inresearch stage, progression stage or maybe final stage. The problems are challenging always for us to overcome and sometimes we might fail to get rid of it. During the research stage for our project, we had tried to gather as much information as we can from the Internet, newspapers, magazines and books. Unfortunately, we do not have the sufficient amount of information to further our development still. This is a serious problem for us since we do not own any knowledge regarding on the project. Besides that, there will be a problem if we input the false or copyrighted information as contents.
The beautiful architectural model that we see in shopping complex is created by professional team who is experienced in creating architectural models. Also, they have helpful tools and machines that assist them to create the models accurately. On the other hand, we do not have the high technology machines to help us and we are not professional enough to create models with bare hands. Hence, this would be a problem for us to build a shophouse model with limited sources. Vernacular Projection requires projectors to screen the digital contents on shophouse model. Projector is an important factor to our projection. The aspect ratio of the projector that we borrowed from college has limited settings. This problem limits our content‟s size that needed to be screen onto the shophouse model. Besides that, there is a distance matter that affects the sharpness of the contents that screen on the model. All these problems have to be overcome during the process of problem analyzing, group discussions and experiments.
As a summary for this section, maximizing the workflow of teamwork will be our top priority in order to achieve the best result for our project. By doing this, all of us must understand and fulfill our specific duty to complete the project on time.

Francis Light acts as an administrator of GeorgeTown to handle living places for migrators. He plans to build houses with palmtree as main architectural material. In the year of 1789, a fire has burneddown all the houses. After this incident, Francis Light decided to interdict tobuild houses with palm tree. Later, shophouses appear to be built withmaterials such as mason, lime plaster, and clay. This is excellent developmentfor architectural field by Francis Light.
At the year of1840s, the economy and living style of Penang’s Chinese is getting better yearby year. Besides that, some of them hire Chinese’s labor from China for houseconstructions.
Chinese peopleupgraded their shophouses into wooden France window and place their wooden nameplate on top of main entrance that represents their home town and ancestor’s name.
At the year of 1890s, the material to buildshophouses had mixed with European decoration. The artistic facade representsthe straits of eclectic style.

Khek Association is the first ART DECO started in Penang. Thiskind of decoration and technology has becomes a trendy decoration forshophouses and other building.
After war ended in 1950s, the economy of Penang started to recuperate.Shophouses began to construct in square-like shape that remain a portion ofclassical design.
