Artist Statement

 

    My collection of works emphasizes the relationship between humans and the Earth. The relationship is an important one- often forgotten by our day-to-day lives. My goal is to mesh the natural with the man-made to create a harmonious output. I think the two concepts should always fit together harmoniously in the real world, as well, without one overbearing the other. It is important that we share the area we have; for nobody truly owns it and we must not disturb it, but rather preserve and adapt to that which surrounds us.

    The calm, stress-free aroma of the serene outdoors is a constant inspiration to my work. It instills a feeling that many are too busy to think about and enjoy.  My method lies mostly in combining two objects that I think will mesh well both compositionally and thematically and from there I tweak the photo until it reaches an optimal look.  My hope is to capture this feeling and carry it on to spread to others who have not taken the time themselves to stop and appreciate the coalition of human-created objects amongst the creations of mother nature.
