This project was an exploration of common everyday, sounds. Sounds we hear when we are not even listening. Taking the digitally recorded sounds I found most appealing, I created a series of vector type compositions to translate these sounds visually. Taking each compositions and having them laser cut out of sheets of balsa wood which was then mounted to MDF board, sanded, and varnished. I used these boards in a letter press to create a series of individual posters. Each poster has it’s own unique quality to it that both represents the craft of letterpress and the idea of sound changing.
