In 1988, I did a holiday card that changed my life. I was studying architecture at Pratt Institute, and was coming to the realization that it wasn't my calling. One of my roommates was an illustration student, and was working on a holiday card. I took a break from my studies and started a card of my own, using a drawing of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. As I worked, I realized I was more inspired and energized by working on this project than any I had done all semester, and over winter break, I decided to switch majors. The rest, as they say, is history. I've done a holiday card almost every year since that first one. Here's a gallery of some of my favorites.
