Promotion Background/Overview
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be opening in Spring 2016. To build excitement, the client wanted to distribute a souvenir save the date promotional piece to be given out at the park to every guest as they leave.
 
Objective of Promotion
The goal of the promotion is to build excitement about the spectacular upcoming Harry Potter Attraction. The Harry Potter attraction has already been open at Universal Studios Florida for over two years and has received rave reviews and international press. Hollywood is an international destination and brand in itself.
 
• Design a souvenir map showing the location of the Harry Potter Attraction opening Spring 2016 at Universal Studious Hollywood.
 
•The map needs to show general areas of the theme park so that guests understand where the Harry Potter Attraction will be.
 
•Associate the research you have done (demographics) to the visual concept of the design.
 
•The finished map design should have a quality to it that will make it a special souvenir item.
 
Concept
I chose to approach this project in a fun and light-hearted manner. Each guest of Universal Studios will have received his or her invitation prior to the time of park entrance. Upon entering The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the guest shall receive a map. This map will dictate the guests' experiences throughout the park. Upon exit, each guest shall receive a corresponding decorative ribbon representing one of the four houses: Slytherin, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, or Hufflepuff. Guests can collect all four ribbons for a chance to create the entire set.
