October 2015, Illustration. Our assignment was to pick a culture from around the globe. We had to look for examples of original artwork then create a design to fit on a T-shirt. My culture was the Huichol native people.
The Huichol
Native Mexicans, living in the Sierra Madre Occidental range in the Mexican states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Durango. They are best known to the larger world as the Huichol, however, they refer to themselves as Wixáritari (“the people”) in their native Huichol language.
