In São Paulo, Brazil, one of the most beloved recipes from Colombia and Venezuela, the arepa gained new releases, fillings and seasonings at the hands of the colombian chef Dagoberto Torres.

The restaurant is a latin take out with a parklet placed right in front of it in one of the coolest neighboorhoods of the city. With lots of different latin fast food and artisanal crafted beers the restaurant needed a identity that could be cool and at the same time really informative.

We needed to comunicate the latin ~vibes~ in this identity in a urban hip way, not um loads of color and different typographies. With that in mind we designed a exclusive type for titles and displays, the Maíz Sans.
 
Maíz Sans is a handrawed type inspired by the "gráficas populares" from latin cultures. Hand painted display signs from different countries in latin america.
 
Together with Maíz Sans, we used Maax to make a direct and clear communication with different publics

There's also a icon pattern with different food elements from latin gastronomy: arepa, popular beer glass, meat, bone, icecream, mandioca, among others.
 
This icon system, together with de different types forms the different graphic materials, such as posters, menus and others.
 
Color is always present.
