Pearl of the Orient: Manila
The goal of the book is to remind the People how destructive War is. Manila was once compared to the beauty of Paris. WWIIchanged everything. Many claim the city has never recovered. Themonth-long Battle for Manila between the Japanese and the Americans resulted inthe town's destruction.Rebuildingwas sporadic, and the city was never able to reclaim either its regionalimportance or its sense of self.

Jean Michel Berts is the inspiration for this. He captured famous cities like New York, Paris and Tokyo. His philosophy, theabstraction of character brings human construction to the forefront thatnothing lasts forever, is perfect for bringing Manila to its people.
