GSA PD Project for NHS Scotland

Research shows that around 80% of Scots deal with the problem of depression at least once in their lifetime.
How do we support people with symptoms of depression or anxiety to have an informed discussion with their GPs about treatment options that approximately take into account the individual’s needs and preferences in relation to treatment options?
research and synthesis

After presenting all the insights we have gathered while interviewing users, during the workshop with FuelFor,
a design consultancy situated in Barcelona, we divided the information between the service users,  service providers
(GPs, therapists and nurses) and the society.
We then mapped the journey of the potential user, indicating various stages from awareness through realisation,
engagement to the treatment and management of condition. We then divided the class into smaller teams to apply
specific needs for the user, GP and therapist within chosen stage of the journey.
concept generation

Creation of ‘What if..?’ questions helps to spot opportunities for development.

-What if people understood the importance of the possible long-term treatment?
-What if there was a post-treatment plan?
-What if the GP could map a patient’s journey visually so they can see their progress? Give the patients homework to do?
PROGRESSION - treatment management tool (key functions)
