Promotional object: Argentine birds
Work I've done for the subject "Special Morphology II". The task was to make a promotional hat to be exhibited in the centenary of Argentine Birds, a national organization that protects wild birds and the nature of Argentina. The design should be based on an endangered extinction bird assigned by the university. Mine was the saw duck (Mergus-octosetaceus).

Analysis
First, the bird was analyzed, recognizing both behavioral and formal characteristics.
- It is a very elusive and noble bird, difficult to see.

En primera instancia, se analizó el ave, reconociendo tanto características de comportamiento como formales.
- Se trata de un ave muy escurridiza y noble, de difícil avistaje.

I sought to show the main attributes without bringing them to formal literalness. Also, I tried to make the product self-supporting and not need straps to hold the structure.
-Busqué mostrar los atributos principales sin llevarlos a la literalidad formal. Además, intenté que el producto sea autoportable y no necesite de straps para que se sostenga la estructura.
Create
For the model, I used expanded polystyrene to carve the main shape. Then I covered it with gauze (for structure) and polyester resin. For the surface finish, I used epoxy putty, which I carved with a tool to give it texture.
For the peak, I improvised, manufactured a thermoforming machine with a vacuum cleaner, and heating the acrylic plate with oven and heat gun. I made the mold of putty. The painting was done on the inner side to see a smooth finish from the outside.
The interior consists of a piece of felt that a hatmaker helped me to do.
The graphic was placed on the back and made of a thin wood veneer with laser engraving.

Para la maqueta usé poliestireno expandido para tallar la forma principal. luego la revestí de gasa (para estructura) y resina poliester. Para el acabado superficial utilicé masilla epoxy la cual tallé con una herramienta para darle textura.
Para el pico, fabriqué improvisadamente una termoformadora con una aspiradora y calendtando la placa de acrílico con horno y pistola de calor. El molde lo fabriqué de masilla. La pintura se hizo del lado interno para ver desde afuera un acabado parejo.
El interior contsa de una pieza de fieltro que fabricamos junto a una sombrerera.
La gráfica se colocó en la parte posterior y estaba hecha de una chapa de madera delgada con grabado láser.
