Today, we’re starting to introduce a fully redesigned Google+ that puts Communities and Collections front and center. Now focused around interests, the new Google+ is much simpler. And it’s more mobile-friendly—we’ve rebuilt it across web, Android and iOS so that you’ll have a fast and consistent experience whether you are on a big screen or small one. I was a key designer in this redesign, when I started on new Google+ team, we had a very quick prototype running. I talked with designers and engineers to start building a cohesive and comprehensive design language and guidelines for the new product to come. The new patterns are building a new section on responsive design on Google products. The launch was highlighted on main tech blogs and traditional newspapers, this article on TechCrunch is a good summary about our process. 
Profiles should be a place where people and brands can express themselves, it’s a destination on Google+ where people can also collect and curate their best pieces of content. I created a simple, clean, but powerful new profile, where your favorite collections and communities can be showcase to tell more about your passions and interests. 
 
I also fixed a couple of issues on old version, including the grid inconsistencies, the lack of space for real content and I simplified the navigation, removing tabs and adding a second screen to list all communities and collections you created.
I proposed disruptive solutions for sharebox, reducing steps and friction on sharing, getting rid of the confusion and redundancy demoting features that are not on focus, like circles, and promoting quickly growing and celebrated features like collections instead. As a result the current sharebox experience is lighter, faster and simpler than the previous versions.
