Exploring Family Car Telematics Systems
This is the project for course Contextual Design Research. As a team, we explored the current telematics systems in North American International Auto Show 2011. We focused on family cars. After 10 interviews we conducted based on the further study of telematics systems, we narrowed down our targeting on family car used by families with young drivers because of the "Control vs. Freedom" conflicts specifically for the phase. We proposed the design idea "Driver Coach" in building the family trust, which leads to a balance between control and freedom.
