Carlson Wagonlit Travel is a global and dynamic corporate travel agency.  Box Studios’ design goals for this specific site consisted of the following:

1. Create a dynamic reception area for many uses

2. Ensure that every unique design element worked together with the next in this single space

3. Design a global inspired international space while staying on a strict budget

4. Help change old cultural thoughts about the traditional workplace and educate how to use space that flexes and breathes to meet the demands of the ever changing business

The office’s location demanded a secure vestibule, but the team wanted this space to feel open and connected, which was achieved by the use of a glass enclosure that was protective, yet added another layer of conceptual and aesthetic expression.  The design also included a secondary function of the reception area as a break out oasis for the three conference rooms used by both guests and staff.  Collaboration takes center stage as the configuration enables formal and informal business meetings and discussions to take place simultaneously.  It can bring people together in an open transparent manner, yet still offer private spaces when required.  This flexibility was achieved through the thoughtful use of dimmable glass, branded images and contemporary use of materials and furniture.
