Metro Goldwyn Mayer- Audiovisual Design and Custom User Interface
MGM's new corporate headquarters in Beverly Hills features a 150 seat screening room, smaller executive screening room, a boardroom, and several small conference rooms.   The project was designed by Interior Architects with audio-visual consulting by Veneklasen Associates.  Mr. Gottfredson served as the senior audio-visual consultant and control systems programmer.  The project was installed by ETI.  The screening room features a digital cinema projection system with a 25' wide custom projection screen that includes a built-in masking system.  The room features 7.1 THX compliant audio.  The room can present many forms of consumer and professional formats including: DCP, Sony HDCAM-SR, Panasonic D-5 HD, Blu-Ray, HD Satellite TV, PIX System (for dailies), and standard computer signals for power point presentations.
The systems are controlled using a custom programmed Crestron control system.  The user interfaces are presented on an IPad.  The systems were programmed to allow anyone without prior experience as a projectionist to start a show.  Advanced features allow projectionists to setup more complex presentations.
