Milking stools
The reapraisal of the traditional Oxfordhire Milkingstool
Theoriginal 3 legged milking stool spent it's last year’s lose legged, worm eatenand paint clipped from decades of use and was eventually relegated to act asthe door wedge to prop open the door of my childhood bedroom at nighttimes until eventually the legs fell out started to turn to dust....

Until one day I found the old thing. The old design was copied and tweeked and remade my dear Carpenter father Joseph Lloyd who handcrafted it back to life. He was subsequently commissioned by Piers Roberts atDesigners block to make 200. These were made in Devon UK and handpainted by the Lloyd family to be later exhibition in Tokyo, London and Milan. They have been sat on by thousands of exhibition visitors and designers from around the world. They have been drawn onby Monorex and used by Francesca’s paintsLTD to showcase Francesca’s bespoke paints at Designersblock at 100% Design London 2009.

JosephLloyd who is a  Carpenter and Joiner makes the milking stools on commission as a cottageindustry in Devon, UK.
