Grigio Chiaro

Graphic Design
Grigio Chiaro is a photographic project made by Fototeca Manfrediana collective, documenting the actual conditions of the abandoned Montecatini colony in Milano Marittima.
Along with MAGMA collective, Fototeca Manfrediana has built a series of events around the exhibition, like DJ sets and talks on photography and architecture.
The brief was to create a standard format that could be used in others future documentations on differents abandoned colonies.
Typography and structure are simple and methodical. The name of the project is made with different weights playing on the meaning of the words used: “Grigio” means “grey” and it’s written in bold, followed by “Chiaro” (“light”) which is written in light.
Also the idea of the packaging is focused on the concept of discovering, transposing the exploration of the photographic process to the folds of the container.
