This wall of plates was an exercise in creating vatiations on a blue and white theme.  I used a white Stoneware clay body as well as a Porcelain body to take advantage of the the different shades of white grounds. The blues are a combination of glazes and underglazes mixed to show a wide range of blues. A few of the plates had a third firing after an application of a Mother of Pearl essense.  I wanted the images on the plates to create a playful dialogue while the blue and white theme established their connection.
