All my life I've enjoyed reading science fiction. Among my favorites are the John Carter books featuring romantic adventures on Barsoom (Mars) written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. With this painting I wanted to reach beyond the imagination of the wonderful authors whose books I read and paint something solely from my own mind.
