This north facing back porch in East Austin offers shade all day during the Texas summer. The roof shape was born of the client's desire for a traditional shed shape and the constraints of the existing roof. The resulting trapezoid exaggerates the backyard perspective, imparting a certain grandness to an otherwise typical outdoor space. Designed and built in collaboration with Jonas Fox.
