Herb Perez for City Council of Foster City
Printed direct mailer
A direct mailer that was commissioned by Left Coast Communications, a Bay Area political consultant firm, for the successful campaign of Herb Perez for City Council of Foster City. I was given general direction that the piece needed to reflect a modern, tech-influenced feel to coincide with Foster City's proximity to the Silicon Valley demographic. The supplied images reflected a diverse demographic from small business to high-tech research and innovation.
The client wanted to present Herb Perez as a down-to-earth, hard-working small business owner born of immigrant parents. The piece focuses on his approachability, willingness to listen to his constituents and his strong commitment to the Foster City community.
The final product was a four-color 10" x 7" bi-fold, with an almost-HDTV-spread of 30". The copy-heavy information needed to inform but not overwhelm the large colorful images that the client supplied. I chose to design semi-transparent text modules that laid over these images, clearly imparting the important points of the campaign while balancing them with the panel images and overall layout.
