Project 1: Calendar Relfection

- With this calendar, I hope to attract buyers with the beautiful and uniques designs for each month. There is no particular message or story that is told through my illustrations. The months were designed based on what color I personally associated with each month.

- The techniques that I used for my illustrations were very simliar to each month. Each design had a geometric shape (randomized in Cinema 4D) that I then traced in Adobe Illustrator, they also have the first three letters of the month, the year 2016 in Bold Helvetica as well as a large number that represented the month (one being January and twelve being December).

- The audience that I hope to attract is nothing specific. I would like to catch the attention of anyone who appreciates my designs and likes the idea of a calendar that focuses more illustration rather than function.

- I looked at a lot of different calendar projects in preparation for my calendar propject. I saw a lot of projects that were doing something similar to mine in that they did not think about the function of the calendar. I saw a lot of people that just wanted to make an awesome series of illustrations, that could also be called a calendar. They were able to do this by creating a series of illustrations and then at the end, giving the illustrations the bare minimum requirements to be called a calendar.

- In the future I would like to create a object, in Cinema 4D, that can be paired with each month of the year, each object would be displayed under the calendar as a matching element to the design. But if we are talking about the design as it is now, I think that I could have found a better way of binding the months together, something wooden would have been nice like a wooden clip that didn’t require hole punching.

Thank you!
