In this series of digital photographs, I wanted to use the "light painting" effect pioneered by Gjon Mili to help reveal information about my subjects that would otherwise not be visible. Each subject was given a questionnaire to help generate ideas and a set of colored LED lights to draw with while the photo was being taken. The effect was achieved using long exposures in darkened rooms, together with selective flash use and occasionally digital compositing in post.
