Blinded - Typographic Short Film

I drew inspiration from my experience of teaching myself to sew. I am a perfectionist, constantly finding fault in my own work. My video expresses the stages of frustration that I go through when working on a project. I start off optimistic and determined, then slowly become more and more dissatisfied, to the point of resenting what I've made .

This feeling is shown through all aspects of my video. I chose to work on white fabric with white thread, to symbolise my pure, unclouded thoughts in the beginning. As the video progresses, the fabric starts to become distorted creating ominous shadowing. The sewn word  becomes tainted black, as my frustration develops further. The video ends with my frustration taking over, consuming all of my hard work. I am blinded by my own emotions. "Blinded" is sewn in my own handwriting to add a personal touch to the piece.
