Jim's Formal Wear

THE PROJECT
Jim's Formal Wear has been a tuxedo rental provider since 1964, they are one of the nation's top tuxedo providers.
They needed an updated web presence and brand that reflected the history, quality, and expertise of JFW.

THE PROCESS
Our first step in the project was to understand their primary user and create user personas. With those personas we could understand how the user currently interacted with their brand and how they wanted to interact with their brand. Their largest market came from high school tuxedo rentals, which lead to a push for a better mobile presence. Several new logos and brand looks were created by a small team of designers considering classic, elegant design and typography.

Once the new brand was chosen the website and mobile experience were wireframed out using Protoshare to ensure a good user flow and simplicity of navigation. The wireframes were tested extensively within JFW and refined several times after feedback from several departments. Once the site map and wireframes were approved, designs were created based on the new look and feel, photography styles were updated, and new features like the tuxedo builder were created.

THE RESULT
The resulting website and mobile experience updated JFW's online presence. It enabled users to purchase directly from their mobile devices, appealing to the teenage demographic and features in the Advice section offering style, rental and how-to tips reestablished JFW as the experts in the field.
