We developed our Range Rover Evoque project as an in-house exercise to showcase how CGI can be used to quickly build impressive and dynamic automotive visuals. We built up a realistic studio environment and used this scene to test various rendering options, such as Arnold Renderer, OTOY Octane Render and the latest V-Ray 3.25.
We were extremely pleased with the results, and the entire exercise has helped to drive home the idea that it’s not simply the renderer that leads to great still visuals, but the artist’s understanding of material properties and painting with light.
