the Nightingales Sing
"The Nightingales Sing”  It is an adaption of the short story by the same name that is considered to be one of the greatest American short stories of the 20th Century.  Joanna, an upper-class girl on the cusp of adulthood goes to a dinner party with strangers from the country and returns home to realize that her experience has changed her.  It is a simple story about important themes: that the world is bigger than we know it to be and that real friendship is a sacred and unexpected thing.

Shot over 5 days in Camden, Maine. This project is a preview of some of the lighting and mood we establish for the movie. All stills were taken with a Nikon D3 at ISO 400 (we shot in super 16 with Kodak 7219 500T rated at 400) 1/50th of a second at f2.8 with a EV value of +1 to mimic the Zeiss lenses we were using. IE: we were shooting at T2.0 throughout the movie.

All shots were cropped to a 1.85 ratio. Visit our blog to read a full production log.

Thank you to all the crew for their hard work and dedication during the shoot.
