Singapore is a prospering nation that aims for progress.
New projects and buildings are taking over the land everyday.
And with the new, the old have to give way.
However, this tiny island city does not lack buildings of historical value.
The National Heritage Board is a statutory board within the Government of Singapore, under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, and it has so far gazetted 69 buildings and structures as national monuments.
Through “Look Beyond the Facade”, the photographer invites viewers to visuals of the monuments beyond the usual building shots. Towers, domes, and grand facades are put aside as we take a closer look into the details of the monument.
