Looking to develop strong presence in the restaurant industry for the local UAE market, we were approached to reinvent the traditional donerji kebab for the young and well travelled youth of the UAE. With an evolving palette to identity and experiences from global markets, we developed Donerji to be young, energetic and dynamic. With taste buds of comfort and an identity for modern dining experience, we were able to connect the millennials to this comfortable yet contemporary dining experience.
The identity uses a bilingual approach of English and Arabic of a 'blocky' type to add weight and make the identity stand on its own. We worked together with Fikra to develop this custom font for both, Arabic and English, languages in order to carry a unique palette and experiment with its structure. The type is then arrange in isometric compositions to show the dynamic nature of the Donerji menu with its combination wraps and plates.
