The VodafoneToy People:
Wooden toy making is an ancient Indian craft from the city of Varanasi which is in the heart of UP. These toys are gaily painted and typically folk in design. The sub jects range from deities to animals to house hold items.
Vodafone wanted to talk about their offers in the UP market. The task was to form a local connect with people. For this we chose to tell our stories through wooden toys.
The toys captured the day to day life of local people, like bus stop conversations, street hawkers and traffic.
The use of an ancient craft to communicate simple new age messages was widely appreciated.
