The theme for this year’s Annual Report is PLAN • CREATE • ENGAGE — a continuation of last year’s theme that focused on open space. Public open space contributes to the liveability and character of Glen Eira. These key words emphasise the importance that Glen Eira City Council places on the creation of purposeful open space for the community. The City of Glen Eira has the least amount of open space per head of population in metropolitan Melbourne (Australia). Therefore, open space forms an essential part of the future planning for our municipality. Creating more open space will provide a unique outlet for exploration and contribute to the health and wellbeing of the overall community. Council will continue to engage with the community to achieve more and better open space.
The Glen Eira City Council Annual Report 2014—2015 is a 248 page report. It has a 6 page cover, and the first 68 pages of the Report are indented from the balance of the Report and display a snapshot of the achievements of Council over the year. The majority of the report is made up of Reporting from Council Departments against the themes contained in Council's Community Plan (92 pages) and financial reporting (74 pages).
The following is a example of the photographic theming, text and structure of the Report.
This report received a Gold Award at the 2016 Australasian Reporting Awards and was a finalist in the special awards:
