Map elements...topographic lines for instance...inform us about the structure of what we see. The below, and at times, even the above. For some of us, they are always there, and I guess I'm one. This series will explore cartographic art and ways we can get more out of landscape than the surface that meets the eye. There are lessons to be learned. About what's there now, and about what soon may be.
My pastels and prints depict a natural world that is thoughtfully observed and sustainably seen. I hope those who view the work will feel similarly. And treat lightly.
