Hansel and Gretel is one of children’s stories that I like by Brothers Grimm. Hansel and Gretel has a great story and I like it when I imagine about how cute, and colourful are the characters and Cake House, contrasting with the dark of forest at night and the cruel aura of the Witch Grandmother.
I made the typography design from Redressed type face (by Astigmatic One Eye Typographic Institute) which is modificated in Illustrator to havethe feel of 1950’s classic style of typography. Then I placed gingerbread man and candy canes on the top of the typography to make it looks like a cake house. Then I made the characters and tree by firstly sketched it and traced it in Illustrator, then with Photoshop, I coloured and used blending mode to drop the shadow and overlay the paper texture to make it looks like a paper-cutting work.
