I have been exploring ways to 3D print shoes within the current limitation of 3D printing capabilities. This is one of my first pairs of 3D printed shoes I create while trying to understand how to create a 3D file, produce a shoe and get the correct fit. First I drafted the last I was using and created a one piece upper. Then I applied graphics in illustrator, extracted the graphics into a 2mm high model and 3D printed it onto mesh with a Taz5 printer. Lastly, I stitched, strobelled and cemented an outsole on. This has been a rewarding simple 3D printed shoe that has encouraged me to explore more advance ideas based from this initial concept.
